This production is a remounting of the regional premiere produced last summer by Catastrophic Theatre at Stages Repertory Theatre.

I missed it last summer.

I am glad I did not miss it this summer.

Because, once again, Catastrophic Theatre shows us what great theatre is all about.

Shelley Calene-Black totally rocks as Pam with shades of Catherine O’Hara in her wide-eyed expressions and in her perfect comic timing.

Greg Dean as Richard burns brightly in his macho magnificence, going where few men have dared to go, knowing full well that we have all fantasized about going there.

Amy Bruce is wonderfully wired as hell and delightfully over the top as Pam whose time to bake a baby in the oven is running out.

Troy Schulze as Tom is the perfect foil for everyone else’s wicked agenda and eventually let’s out his own with drastic effects.

Director Jason Nodler creates magic with his brilliant cast.

No stone is left unturned, no fire untended, no bridge not crossed, no possibility not realized.

Kevin Holden’s scenic and lighting design are remarkable.

You won’t believe what happens to his perfect set night after night!

Brian Byrnes beautifully orchestrates the many physical confrontational scenes as fight director.

Hunter Gatherers runs Wednesdays through Saturdays through Saturday, July 17.
