George Parker

Been a few years since the last show I did, The Catastrophic Theatre’s production of Paradise Hotel. What strange and wondrous times those were. It’s nice to be back on stage with a through-line, working with a great cast and some long time friends. You might not have remembered me in a number of Infernal Bridegroom Productions such as We Have Some Planes, 20 Love Songs, Action, Roberto Zucco, In the Jungle of Cities, Last Rites and Camino Real. I have also greased the stages of Theatre Schmeater in Seattle, WA, the Houston Shakespeare Festival, The Children’s Theatre Festival, Early Stages, Country Playhouse, TheatreLAB, Houston Grand Opera, and the Alley Theatre. I was BFA’d in theatre from the University of Houston. Then MFA’d in film at Columbia University. I spend most of my time in some form of emotional recovery and earning a living teaching filmmaking at the Art Institute of Houston and more specifically screenwriting at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. I’m daily survived by my two beautiful sons Calvin and Jonas, who faithfully remind me of things I most certainly thought I’d either forgotten or purposely misplaced about myself. In the not so distant past, I might have entertained a pithy or profound quote from someone obscure or controversial at this point. But today, I relegate my point to the pithy period.
