Tamarie Cooper

Tamarie Cooper is associate director of The Catastrophic Theatre. She has been performing her entire life. Originally trained in dance, she began working in theatre at HSPVA and helped to found the Infernal Bridegroom company in 1993 where she worked for fourteen years.

She is a seasoned actor, director, designer, choreographer and occasional writer, best known for her original "Tamalalia" series, which enjoyed a highly successful run and cult-like following for ten years in Houston. Tamarie continued to create popular original musical productions with Twenty Love Songs, and with The Catastrophic Theatre (which she co-founded in 2007 with Jason Nodler), The Tamarie Cooper Show and The Tamarie Cooper Show: Journey to the Center of My Brain (in 3-D!).

Tamarie has been featured in national trade magazine, Stage Directions, and has received various "Best of Houston" awards from The Houston Press for her performances and original work.

Sex, drugs, and rock ’n roll Dutch-style pretty much sums up the monumentally epic life and times of Herman Brood and Bluefinger, boldly and masterfully brought to the stage by visionary Jason Nodler, artistic director of The Catastrophic Theatre.

Bluefinger is so good that it could and should run for years, whether here or Off-Broadway or both.  It is better than American Idiot, which I reviewed on opening night, and could make a huge splash in a smaller New York venue.
